Highwoods Academy

We are delighted to be participating in ‘Doncaster Stories’, a 10 year community driven campaign to boost literacy skills in the town.  It is delivered by the National Literacy Trust in partnership with Doncaster Opportunity Area. 

Each child in KS2 was delighted to be given a free Roald Dahl book. This also contained a bookmark, which feature reading tips to encourage children to read in their own time, and to read more widely.

KS2 children and adults have also been nominating their favourite children’s books. The most popular 100 have been published into an interactive list and will be available to borrow from local libraries, with activities to follow – see below.
